This is eduroam

Eduroam is basically a mutual service agreement between member organisations within the education and research community. Essentially this means that the members agree to provide internet access on their campuses to visiting students and staff members from other member organisations.

To be able to connect to eduroam, the user needs a user account (from a member organisation) and a computer with a wireless network card. Further, the computer needs to be configured with the correct client and the correct settings. The configuration depends on the equipment and the set up used by the users’ home organisation. For information and support on how to configure computers for eduroam we therefore recommend users to contact their local IT-support function.

In Sweden the eduroam federation is organised as a part of the wider identity federation framework - SWAMID. For issues and questions regarding membership in eduroam in Sweden we refer to the SWAMID websiteexternal link.
